I am delighted to welcome you to Brighton College Lisbon and to the opportunity to join us at the beginning of this exciting journey. As the founding Head Master, what excites me most about Brighton College Lisbon is the opportunity to bring the very best of the Brighton College educational experience to Portugal, building on a model that has been developed and refined over many years in the UK and is now being brought to an international community in Lisbon.

We are unashamedly ambitious for Brighton College Lisbon. We want to build the leading academically successful school in Portugal, while being equally ambitious about every aspect of school life. That starts with excellent teaching and outstanding outcomes, but it goes much further. We want our pupils to benefit from an education that is broad, challenging, and deeply enriching. We want them to be exceptionally well cared for and to leave us with the confidence and character to make a real contribution to a rapidly changing world, rooted in authentic kindness for themselves and others.

That ambition will require people who share it. I am looking for colleagues who set high standards for themselves and others, and for Brighton College Lisbon to be a place where people enjoy working together and where everyone feels a genuine sense of ownership in what we are building.

At the heart of the school will be an academically ambitious education in which every child is known, supported, and encouraged to flourish. We will seek to develop pupils who are curious, confident, and kind, who love learning and have the opportunity to discover where their individual talents and interests lie. We want them to leave us with the resilience and confidence to make the most of whatever opportunities lie ahead.

For me, the opportunity to build Brighton College Lisbon is ultimately about bringing together a proven educational model with an excellent founding team, and then giving both the freedom to flourish into a new community. I want us to create a school that aspires to be the best in Portugal while remaining deeply focused on the individual child and on what makes education genuinely transformative.
